Classic quotes on web accessibility from someone high up in our organisation yesterday:

"The reason our website doesn't work for a lot of people is because they haven't updated their Microsoft."

"If you have something really old like a Pentium 1 or Pentium 2, then it won't manage it [to display our website], but most people nowadays have a Pentium 4... or higher."

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well that's all right then.

(My italics for emphasis).

My alternate reality

Edd has written a cool list of things that would be true in his alternate reality. I particularly liked the ones about the built-in RSS reader and the downloaded music.

Profiles in Mozilla Firefox are really cool. I never used to see the point of them, but now I have loads and they help me to keep focused on a certain type of work or project e.g. dev work. I have one profile which simply loads webmin for my server. And my main one for just browsing, which has the most extensions installed.

Other software I'm loving recently includes liferea (rock steady), rhythmbox (now that gstreamer is maturing, it just plays everything and does shuffle etc etc) and gaim (of course! It's always been a favourite.)
